At the beginning of 2014, we were appointed by the Queensland Country Women’s Association (QCWA) to assist them with updating the asbestos registers for in excess of 220 buildings. The project overall was completed over a 10 month period and involved our team completing asbestos surveys for the QCWA state-wide throughout Queensland.
For each site the survey included for the collection of samples and on site risk assessments of Asbestos Containing Materials, whilst due to the overall geographical spread of the sites and to assist with the ongoing management of identified or suspected ACM’s, the opportunity was also taken to apply suitable asbestos advisory labels at the time of the surveys.
As the project progressed, a comprehensive report, including detailed asbestos register compliant with current regulations was produced for each site. This ensured the client had in place any details pertaining to remediation works required as soon as possible. Upon overall completion of the site inspections and issue of the asbestos registers, the extent of our involvement also included for the collation and provision of a project specific Asbestos Management Plan (AMP), which in turn was available for all state-wide stakeholders within QCWA.
